RENEWABLE Energy Generation is to invest £12.5m in a new wind farm in East Riding.
East Riding Council gave planning permission for the Sancton Hill development earlier this year. The firm this morning announced plans to buy five wind turbines from manufacturer Vesta, for the site which will be delivered in spring 2012. The wind farm is expected to produce around 27 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity per year, further increasing Yorkshire's Renewable energy commitments to secure a low carbon future.
