 Yorkshire and the Humber Microgeneration Conference and Awards

Yorkshire and the Humber Microgeneration Conference and Awards will be taking place during the day at the Majestic Hotel, Harrogate on 31st of March 2011. This high profile event will focus on the forthcoming Renewable Heat Incentive  as well as reviewing the success to date of the Feed in Tariff on the eve of its first anniversary. The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) 

The Yorkshire and Humber Microgeneration Partnership welcome the announcement made in October that the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) will go ahead. The Partnership understands that the scheme will be launched from June 2011.

The Feed in Tariffs (FiTs)

After recent negative speculation in the press, The Yorkshire and Humber Microgeneration Partnership is pleased to learn that the Feed in Tariffs (FiTs) payment for generators of electricity from Solar PV will not be cut.

The second of the UKs regional microgeneration partnerships

Yorkshire and Humber Microgeneration Partnership Chair, Amanda Botterill is delighted that the North East have just launched the second of the UKs regional microgeneration partnerships. NERA already comprises of half the renewable installers based in the North East.

GREENHOUSE

MANY is happy to report that the GREENHOUSE held a successful launch on 1st and 2nd October, and the first residents and businesses have moved in. Greenhouse incorporates an open-loop borehole and ground source heat pump, has 212m2 of solar thermal panels, two roof-top turbines generating up to 24,000kWh/yr feed directly into the building provide the energy for communal lighting and lifts. Sheffield Solar Farm

Despite the wintery conditions across the country, there is a lot to be learned from solar panels and while the panels at the Sheffield Solar Farm; a member of YHMP, are covered in a layer of snow, the scientists are still collecting and analysing data.  While some panels are cleared of snow, others remain covered, in order to provide a performance comparison. The Renewable Energy Podcasts

YHMP member Heatking's director, John Lightfoot, has launched The Renewable Energy Podcasts website, the purpose of this website is to present the visitor with podcasts which aim to cover a different "microgeneration" or "renewable" technology.

Ofgem E-Serve produce an informative newsletter detailing how many installations have started claiming FiTs and the total installed capacity. In the latest newsletter is an update on the first six months of the scheme and an overview of its statistics in the second quarter of 2010.
