GMI Renewable Energy Group has just completed two large PV solar projects in Yorkshire. A 100kW roof mounted solar PV array has been sited at Pavers Shoes’ office and distribution centre in York. The system includes 432 solar panels installed across the 7911 sq ft roof at Northminister Business Park.
GMI have also installed a 150kW PV solar array at the Clarence Dock car park in Leeds. Ben Ziff, managing director of Town Centre Car Parks (TCCP), said “This system is definitely something to be proud of as it is the UK’s largest city centre system and we are working closely with GMI to look at other future opportunities.”
The combined systems will generate around 5,000 MWh of electricity over the 25 year period the feed in tariff guarantees payment. An income of £1.65m will be generated from the feed in tariff and save the businesses around £450,000 in electricity based on current energy prices. The full story can be read at:-
