Community owned renewable energy is recognised as a practical solution to the current energy crisis and the issues surrounding climate change. Much adopted in Europe, particularly Scandinavia, community owned renewable energy is still not widely accepted as an energy option in the UK.

Bradford Environmental Action Trust (BEAT) in conjunction with Community Renewable Energy (CoRE) is running a free training course in Bradford to train participants in community owned renewable energy,  The course will review the available options, and how to take these through to successful implementation of a renewable energy project.

No experience is required but a willingness to communicate knowledge gained from the course with community groups, to extend and expand the understanding of community owned renewable energy is desirable.  Tutors involved in delivery of the course have considerable experience of setting up community renewable energy systems and community working.

The course will be held on three consecutive Wednesdays in November; 2nd, 9th, 15th, at Baildon Link Community Centre, 35 Cliffe Avenue, BD17 6NX.
