On 7 February 2011, the Government announced the first comprehensive review of the Feed-in tariffs (FITs) scheme for small-scale low-carbon electricity generation.
As part of this review the tariffs for farm scale Anaerobic Digestion (AD) up to 500kW were increased. However this increase was conditional based on state aid approval. The European Commission has decided not to raise objection to the proposal and therefore the new AD tariffs will take effect immediately.

This is great news for the AD industry as projects can now be reassured that the FIT rate is set and confirmed.
No decision has yet been made on the comprehensive review of Solar PV FIT rates.
