Will one in six vehicles be electric by 2030?

Low Carbon Transport - Blog The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) has published a report " Electric Avenues " which estimates that more than six million electric vehicles will be needed on the UK's roads by 2030 if we are to meet our carbon dioxide reduction targets. If this target is achieved electric vehicles would represent 18% of all vehicles in 2030. The report's authors suggest that a combination of high EV uptake, improvements in the efficiency of internal combustion engine vehicles (ICEVs), and demand management measures to reduce the amount people drive could potentially reduce UK fuel demand for cars by nearly 80% by 2030.
