You may have noticed that DECC launched a call for evidence around their Pathways 2050 Analysis project. You can find the details here http://decc.gov.uk/en/content/cms/what_we_do/lc_uk/2050/2050.aspx. I know it can feel that it is difficult to influence consultations of this type. However, DECC will use the evidence they receive to shape policy over this Parliament. This gives us an opportunity to apply the evidence we have from our strategic and recent pre-FEED studies to demonstrate to Government how the early development of large scale CO2 transport infrastructure can make a huge impact on energy and emissions targets well ahead of 2050. So, let us know whether you think the work we have produced is valuable and how it con be used most effectively to contribute to the consultation.
The consultation closes on 5th October and I would urge you all to submit a response, and consider our work in shaping your response.
