
Lorna joined CO2Sense Yorkshire in November 2005 and has been responsible for the development and delivery of the sustainable procurement area of the organisation. Lorna developed the Buy Recycled initiative which helped the public and private sector to increase the procurement of recycled content products. The programme diverted 47,000 tonnes of waste from landfill, reduced 34,000 tonnes of CO2 and generated a spend of £13.6 million on recycled goods.
Lorna has over nine years experience in the environmental sector. Prior to joining CO2Sense Yorkshire Lorna worked at East Riding of Yorkshire Council managing a European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) project, which provided environmental support to Small and Medium Sized businesses. Prior to that Lorna worked at Business in the Community for three and a half years on the environment campaign, Business in the Environment.
